Out of Order @ Colours May Vary

I organised an exhibition of Leeds College of Art 3rd Year BA (Hons) Illustration work at Colours May Vary, Leeds, last month. With 38 people in the exhibition, all representing different interpretations of the phrase ‘Out of Order’, we aimed to showcase a range of processes and visual styles.

The show identity and promotional material were created by Ian Fulcher, who is on the course, and combined two designs submitted by Amy Hall and Mad Rich.

We had a launch night on Friday 10th March, which was really good fun and a big success. It was great to have so many people involved in the event, and due to the range of work it really opened it up to a wide audience.

The guys over at Colours May Vary are absolutely fantastic to work with and super supportive of all creatives. The show ran for the month of March, with copies of prints (digital, lino and screen prints), publications and other artworks (embroidery and hand stitching) on sale at the shop.

For anyone who missed the show but is interested in seeing or hearing more about it, I answered some questions for a blog post over on the Colours May Vary site, which you can read here.

We also set up an Instagram account to share individuals work and news on the show, which you can follow here. This account will be updated shortly to continue documenting the 3rd year Illustration work beyond the exhibition, through to the LCA End of Year Show.
